Caring for family members who are ill can be a tough job, physically, emotionally, and financially. Tami Neumann knows this firsthand. A Certified Dementia Practitioner, she is also the parent of a child with Type 1 Diabetes.
With such personal experiences, Neumann decided the best thing to do would be to share them with others and offer advice on caregiving, as well as start conversations on such difficult subjects. With that, her radio program Conversations In Care was born.
"Conversations In Care was created out of my understanding that caregiving is hard work and that no caregiver should go without getting their needs met and the information that they need to be successful. To me just one conversation can be all that is needed to create awareness and establish a community of support", remarked Neumann about her program.
Now, the show will be a podcast syndication on Duneland Innovators by Mystic Waters Media, with the aim of reaching more folks right here in northwest Indiana.
"I feel that my partnership with Duneland Innovators is a wonderful opportunity to reach a wider audience of listeners, especially right here where I live. I look forward to offering a unique perspective to the role of caregiver taken on by so many people", said Tami about the new arrangement.
"We really looking forward to branching out in regards to the partnership with Conversation In Care", added Michael Finney, Media Coordinator for Mystic Waters Media, "Syndication is only the beginning!"
Neumann hosts the show, where she shares her personal experience, offers encouragement, and provides direction for caregivers and their families. In addition to her two cents, the show features listeners who share their stories about caring for loved ones. Also featured are health care professionals who offer opinions on specific situations.
This isn’t the first time Neumann has utilized the web. In addition to the show, Neumann also takes to her website to spread her message through such channels as a blog or holding virtual roundtables with health care professionals. However, broadcasting online is a huge opportunity to reach and find new listeners with unique caregiving stories, as well as possibly attract high-profile guests.
